There's a lot of hype around the latest of our major league sports teams' not-fucking-up-too-much season. But the phacts are a little less phun...
FACTS:
The Philadelphia Phillies organization is 125 years old. They've been in the playoffs 10 times. That gives them an average of being in the playoffs about every 12 years. Their last playoff run was in '93. Like the 17 year locust, they were bound to come back.
Not to say that I'm not happy. I mean anything that can get people like this excited...

Deserves some kind of credit. I just don't wanna be biking up 8th street next to a van full of these guys after we loose the pennant.
I'm not hating, but even if the Phillies go all the way it's still short term bliss. Like crack.. or Ikea furniture. Quite frankly, I'd rather see some long term happiness for the city, like having Wireless Philadelphia actually up, working and free . Call me new fashioned.
But there's a couple of things we can all agree on.. It's nice to have the whole city semi-euphoric all at once. Even people who could give a shit about baseball, like me. We all feel a sense of pride and bigness. And hey, maybe this will help the murder rate! Oh, and one more thing...
